Increasing Milk Supply
I want to preface by saying I am not a nurse or a lactation consultant , I am just a mom who has low milk supply and wants to be able to nurse my baby. A lot of my advice comes from lactation consultants that I have seen or through in depth research and nights hunched over my computer. What works for some mamas will not work for all so while there is helpful advice here, make sure that you try a variety of things to find what works for you. First and foremost, let's do away with this idea that breastfeeding is easy. It's absolutely not ! On top of making sure you have the proper latch you also push through: the pain that comes with nursing for the first time or starting to nurse again, teething, going back to work, nursing on demand and of course what we’re here to talk about today- low supply (which can be due to a variety of reasons).
